Hartebeespoort Waste Discharge/Charge System (Client: Department of Water and Sanitation – South Africa)
MDT Environmental Management assisted the Department of Water and Sanitation in 2013, in developing a remediation programme for the Hartebeespoort Dam. MDT were instrumental in developing a water management system, specifically a new waste discharge/charge system. The system creates a resource pool, which gives municipalities incentives to reduce the amount of pollution and improve water quality.

Olifants River Reconciliation Study (Client: Department of Water and Sanitation – South Africa)
MDT Environmental were an integral part of the Water Use Reconciliation Study for the Olifants River Catchment, commissioned by the Department of Water and Sanitation in 2012. The study was used to develop a strategy to reconcile conflicting water demands in the important ecosystem along the river as it flowed through the Kruger National Park towards Mozambique. MDT Environmental conducted the water quality study and environmental screening for proposed new developments.

Vaal River System – Eradicating Illegal Water Use (Client: Department of Water and Sanitation – South Africa)
MDT Environmental provided the project management and field personnel required to assist the Department of Water and Sanitation in reducing water demand and eradicating the illegal use of water for irrigation in the Vaal River System. MDT Environmental were appointed in association with Schoeman and Partners to identify illegal water use for irrigation and assist government in the legal processes to put an end to illegal irrigation.
